The CODE Digital Experience Center’s latest immersive production, VASARELY— titled “The Father of Op Art,” which showcases the work of one of the most influential Hungarian-born visual artists of the 20th century through the lens of digital technology.

A 90-year-old glass elevator, Roman soldiers, the Gourmet Festival, and Vasarely galore—we certainly won’t be bored in the coming days. 

The video mapping production titled *Inventions*, presented at the CODE Hexagon space in Veszprém, explores the life and work of an outstanding Hungarian scientist and inventor . This work is not merely an educational visual spectacle, but a complex, site-specific cultural experience: we come to understand this knowledge not through facts and dates, but through experiences and sensations composed within a spatial context.

On December 12–13, CODE will once again transport us to another dimension: Andor Sanderson’s audiovisual production titled “Fragments” is coming—an experience that goes far beyond a simple concert. It is a complete inner journey—featuring lights, music, movement, and the unique, hexagonal atmosphere of Hexagon Square.

Since October, the production brought to life through a collaboration between Derengő Animation and CODE Veszprém, *Hidden Sounds*, a one-of-a-kind experiential project: a 25-minute immersive experience that combines mythology, music, and visual storytelling. 

Starting October 16, visitors can experience the latest production at the CODE – Digital Experience Center in Veszprém, titled *Hidden Sounds*, an immersive story created through a collaboration between Derengő Animation and CODE.

At the premiere performance at the CODE Experience Center, Zamira’s story came to life, where music, light, and the sounds of nature came together. The screening of *Hidden Sounds* added a new dimension to Veszprém— the county seat, once known as the City of Music, has now also become the City of Lights.

This year, CODE’s fall event in Veszprém invites you into the realm of sounds, cultures, and imagination: The interactive story titled “Hidden Sounds” invites you on a unique journey where nature, music, and imagination intertwine in a captivating, experience that appeals to all ages.

The former Dimitrov Cultural Center in Veszprém has been renovated as a Digital Experience Center. The designers sought to preserve the original building’s values through adaptive reuse. During construction, several details were significantly modified compared to the original plans, but in line with the “non-construction” philosophy, the designers present the original concept in this article.

The CODE Digital Experience Center, Veszprém’s new venue has been introduced as a forward-looking cultural hub—a meeting point for art, technology, and science. We went to see exactly what this entails, and we’ll just say this much in advance: we had a fantastic experience.

In Veszprém, the future was handed over to Hungary today. An exhibition space that is constantly changing around us, while jumping back and forth between two and three dimensions. It is at once a unique exhibition, an educational space exploring the minute details of the universe around us, as well as a technology lab, where local creative artists can use digital tools to create new works, thereby strengthening the region’s role as a hub for the creative industries. The essence of CODE, established on the site of the former Dimitrov Cultural Center, cannot be summed up in just one sentence.

In the heart of Veszprém stands a building whose walls preserve more than a century of history. From the 1870s through 1944, it served as the home of the bishops of Veszprém and their families, and then, amid the turmoil of World War II, it became the headquarters first for German and then for Russian soldiers.

After the technical handover was completed earlierfor the Dimitrov Cultural Center—a late-modern-style building constructed in 1973 as a cultural center for Veszprém County— on February 27, the CODE Digital Experience Center—which constitutes a major part of the project—was also officially inaugurated.
